Dr Leigh Golding is the current Australian Cricket Team doctor (Men’s) and a specialist Sports & Exercise Medicine Physician. He has extensive experience treating elite athletes across multiple sports, including Cricket, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Athletics, Golf and Netball.
In addition to his commitments to Cricket, Dr Golding continues to provide match-day medical support for International Rugby Union, NRL and Super Rugby Competitions. He was previously the team doctor for NSW Swifts Netball, NSW Athletics, Junior Wallabies and the Presidents Cup International Golf Teams, as well as team doctor at the Cronulla Sharks (NRL). He has also been part of the match day medical teams for FFA Soccer, Sydney International Rowing Regattas and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Dr. Golding provides care informed by up-to-date research. In addition to managing musculoskeletal injuries, he is experienced in performing ultrasound-guided procedures where clinically appropriate. These may include treatments such as hyaluronic acid, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and corticosteroid injections, when indicated as part of an evidence-based treatment plan.
He has a particular interest in pars stress fractures and concussion and continues to contribute regularly to peer-reviewed research.
