THE PRINCE OF WALES AND CONCORD HOSPITALS SHOULDER & ELBOW FELLOWSHIP
The fellowship is for 12 months duration and involves clinical, operative and research experience in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. The fellowship is accredited by the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
The fellowship is located in Sydney, Australia, at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick and Repatriation General Hospital in Concord. Some training takes place in local private hospitals.
The surgeons involved are:
- Wade Harper
- Doron Sher
- Ivan Popoff
- Todd Gothelf
- John Trantalis
- Alan Dao
The research component is run by Prof. William Walsh at the Prince of Wales Orthopaedic Research Laboratory and will involve at least one major research project.
The clinical component involves
- Assisting at private operating lists
- Outpatients and consulting clinics
- At least one major clinical project
- An average of one supervised operating list a week
- Journal club once every second month
- Possibility of participating in an “on call” roster at a peripheral public hospital
The fellowship is open only to qualified Orthopaedic Surgeons from

The stipend is AUS $80,000 pa ( extra funds can be earned by participating in an after hours “on call” roster)
Applicants will have to apply and receive
- Registration in New South Wales Australia ( a six to twelve month process)
- Medical defence insurance
