Dr. Allen Turnbull graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1980. He completed his residency training at St George Hospital and was then appointed to the Sydney Orthopaedic Training Scheme which he completed in 1984. During his training he was selected as the Australian-American Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellow.
On completion of his training he worked for two years as a Fellow in joint replacement at Baulkham Hills Private Hospital, Mater Misericordiae Hospital, the Sanitarium Hospital and St Luke’s Hospital, Sydney.
He has had several publications in international orthopaedic journals and has presented regularly at local, national and international orthopaedic meetings. He is currently a member of the editorial board of Musculoskeletal Update.
Dr. Turnbull specialises in primary and revision joint replacement surgery and arthroscopic surgery in the lower limbs.
Dr. Turnbull is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He is a member of the Australian Medical Association, the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Port Hacking Medical Association and the Western Pacific Orthopaedic Association and the Australian Hip Society.
He has served on the state council of the Orthopaedic Association and the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is currently on the council of the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
